Wooden surfboards are a whole world away for your average surfer, but there’s nothing like the feel of wood. Its lively, it goes from turn to turn in a deceivingly agile fashion, and there’s really just nothing else like it. Timber is not just for the purists. Timber boards can be made either in solid balsa or paulownia, which are heavy on land but so light in the water, or in a modern hollow timber setup. These are constructed with an internal frame and multiple stringers. You get the traditional feel without the excessive dry weight. These boards are built to last an age and are something you can keep forever and pass on to your grommets. Seriously labour intensive and one of a kind, all wooden boards are by custom order only.
